Anchor Eye privacy

This policy covers the Anchor Eye iPhone/iPad app, web preview and optional shore companion, operated by YakPak. No account or advertising tracking is required.

Location and local records

The onboard app uses precise location to record an anchor and compare boat movement with a swing boundary, including background location during an active watch. Anchor settings, boat details, tracks, notes and logbook records are stored on the device. The browser preview uses local browser storage. You can delete logbook entries in the app. Browser data can be removed through browser settings.

Optional shore sharing

When you enable sharing, the app sends the latest precise boat position, GPS accuracy and timestamp, anchor position, swing radius, watch state and GPS alert settings to YakPak’s hosted service. The service stores the latest snapshot rather than a full track history. It associates that record with a random connection identifier and protected access tokens. Anyone holding the viewer link can read the shared watch; the link does not grant permission to change the onboard watch.

New connections remain until revoked. Stop watch retains the connection; Pause sharing suspends live position sharing. Revoke link deletes the companion record after the server confirms the request. A stopped or paused record may retain the last anchor and settings but no live boat fix. If your device is offline, stopping or revocation cannot reach the server until it reconnects. Older links expire after 24 hours. Your device saves connection credentials in its Keychain so they survive app restarts.

Service providers

Network requests reveal an IP address to service providers. The companion service stores a hash derived from the connection creator’s IP address to limit abuse. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process operational request logs. Apple Maps and other selected map providers receive map-area requests and network information under their own privacy policies. The web preview uses OpenStreetMap, Esri and regional map services.

Testing and support

Apple processes TestFlight installation, crash and feedback information under its policies. Feedback you send to YakPak may include your email address, message and attached diagnostics or screenshots. We use this information to respond and improve the app. Do not include private shore links unless needed for a support request.

Your controls

You can change location and notification permission in device settings, stop a watch, pause sharing, revoke a link and delete local logbook entries. We do not sell your location, use it for advertising or track you across other apps. Contact support@yakpak.au for privacy or deletion questions; do not publish your private viewing link.
